Work with Me!

If you are reading this page I would assume you are here for a few reasons:

  • You are looking for someone to write about accessibility topics for your website or publication.
  • You are a developer wanting feedback about accessibility options in your game from a disabled gamer, or looking for someone to spread the word about options in your upcoming game.
  • You have a product your are wanting to share with our community.
  • You are interested in having me speak to a group at your event.
  • You are a business owner wanting to make sure you are using assistive technology in a way to ensure you are including everyone with physical disabilities.

If you answered yes to any these questions, you are in the right place. My name is April, and I have been running Ability Powered for 7 years now. Over the course of my time here I have been published in the magazine PC Gamer, written freelance articles for Game Skinny, The Geeky Gimp, and Easterseals; beta tested for Microsoft; and have been a frequent speaker about the Muscular Dystrophy Association over my lifetime. Game accessibility and assistive technology are really important to me and I take any projects having to do with either very seriously. Contact me to discuss how I can help on your next project.

Why Choose Me?

I am an actual disabled person with firsthand experience on accessibility topics. I also come with a ย growing social media presence which includes a variety of people from the disabled community to developers.
